Isn't there an Apple keynote address tonight?

I'm fine with my iPad Mini 4, but it lives next to me bed. I don't have more use for it.
My iPad Pro is my go to device!! Love it to bits!! Would love a new iPad but they just too pricey!! I won a Kindle HD on mybroadband a couple of years ago!! My goodness, what a donkey of a device?!! 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 Absolute crap!! Wish Oneplus would make a killer tablet!!

Oh look, USB-C. Yawn.
Hey, USB C is great, all devices with the same cable. Now if only my laptop would be 2x USB C instead of a brick, that would be nice...
(USB C is max 100W according to spec, but current max is around 75W with Apple recently going 90W, my charging brick is 150W).

I do wonder when Apple is going to move to GaN chargers officially, since it makes the bricks way smaller (around 60% of the size), and Apple insists on their laptop brick basically being at the wall.

This is a 100W GaN:

" The new charger is only about the size of a deck of cards (the brick itself measures 3.36 x 2.39 x 1.14 inches), thanks to the gallium nitride technology that’s far more energy-efficient than traditional silicon, allowing for smaller chargers that waste less energy. "

94% efficiency if it's the same as others from beginning of 2019, too lazy to follow the link. Should heat up a lot less.

https://www.anker.com/products/variant/powerport-atom-pd-4/A2041122 Should allow you to charge all your apple devices at the same time, brick isn't at the wall, so can put it on your desk:

I do want to do something like this once I move to a USB C laptop probably in 2023 or whenever USB C spec can do proper laptops.

As you might have noticed, I got annoyed at one point lugging chargers around and researched the stuff. :p

2 x USB-C on a machine is absolutely useless for me. So much so I gave my MB Pro to my wife and bought a 2017 Air so I could have decent input/output options.

My Thinkpad is docked to a speaker, display, mouse, keyboard, drives, ethernet, camera, headphones...

USB C on both sides is useful so you can charge on either side. Issue is if you have USB A peripherals, but most should only have one set of mouse and keyboard, so one dongle you leave at home since you're probably not traveling with your peripherals while using one.

More of the same. No innovation.

Is there another watch that does bloody oxygen levels?

Also the iPad handwriting to digital conversion shit while not new I’ve never seen done so slick, but of course real world may be a different story.

My big disappointment is the lack of FaceID on the new iPad Air. I was really hoping for a “last years iPad Pro” for a better price kind of thing and it’s somewhat that but I just can’t see myself living without FaceID.

So guess I’ll wait another generation before I upgrade from my iPad 2.

****

Besides inventing new shit just for the sake of saying it’s new makes it utterly pointless.
