Well survived another night but still snot and post nasal drip. Going to send housemate to get some meds to dry up my nose and a bronchodilator for my post nasal drip lungs and also an oximeter just in case (actually I like gadgets so this is a good excuse). Other than that I feel fine. Temperature is a perfect 36.6C, so no fever. Hopefully gone by tomorrow.
Just keep looking after yourself.

You can get a test for R150 from Dischem. If it was me I'd want to know I had it for definite going forward with future boosters and stuff.

Oh, thought it was more expensive.

I’d get the booster anyway. Symptoms match vaccinated omicron like snot nose, post nasal drip, tight chest, bit of a cough, but not all mind you, not fatigued, sore throat or headache (though it was a bit for an hour Tuesday night). Busy clearing up already, I expect to be fine by tomorrow. So the test might be too late by now. Snot nose started Tuesday but I only clicked yesterday what might be going on. It might even just be a cold.

I was pretty lucky and got some NHS lateral flow tests from a friend who was visiting from the UK and I used our last one a couple of days ago when my 16 year old son was feeling crap. Turns out he was fine as well and he actually got his second jab yesterday.

I think you can do a drive through at the car park at the side of the Mediclinic as well. But good it's clearing up anyway.

Is lateral flow the same an antigen test? Uses a drop of blood?

I was also sneezing at time previous two days. Just been wracked with yawns for the past 30 minutes, limited interrupted sleep for two nights, might need a nap…

No, they use a nasal swab sample.

Open to correction here but these rapid home tests are notoriously poor at detecting Omicron from what I have been able to pick up.

Nose mostly cleared up but lungs still a bit tight. Blood oxygen a bit lower at 96% but that’s still above the minimum acceptable 94%. Will keep on taking the meds.
